There is something so serene about a simple beauty session in the California desert. A plain silk slip, robe and stunning dress from Katrina’s wardrobe complimented the feel of this intimate and ethereal shoot. The setting was simple and subtle which allowed the focus to remain on the ever so stunning, Olivia. Beauty portraits are so much more than being sexy and perfect. It’s more about celebrating the vulnerable woman willing to stand before you and creating imagery that tells their story. Olivia’s husband is currently serving our country overseas, and this session not only served as a gift to him but as a gift to herself. As women, we tend to the hustle of everyday life and forget the most important person in this life is ourselves. I encourage women to make the time to have photographs taken of them; embrace your flaws and differences. It serves as a way to remember who we were and how much we’ve grown and perhaps, together, we can set a new standard!
