Hey, there! I’m so excited that you are here and have reached out about little ol’ me documenting this season of your life! That is not anything I take lightly, trust me. I believe that choosing a photographer is so much more than hiring someone with a camera to document your day. Your photographer should be someone who makes you feel comfortable, someone who eases the craziness of a portrait session, and maybe, someone who eventually becomes a friend (hey, girl, hey – I’m ready with wine when you are). 

I am a hybrid photographer based in both Southern California and the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry. I love natural light and often use film to slow down time and truly capture the beauty of a moment. I strive to create beautiful images that are classic, natural and tell each families unique story.

THE PROCESS

After photographing my fair share of sessions over the past few years, I’ve found that I am not the perfect fit for everyone. That’s why this process begins with a conversation. I want to hear about your vision and even encourage clients to create a Pinterest board (for inspiration). Give it all to me!

We’ll get to know one another, talk about the details, answer any questions you might have about working with me and figure out if we’re the best fit for one another. Be warned I can be slightly awkward but I have an English bulldog named Buster who might bomb our chat and that could be something to look forward to!

Use me. I mean it! I am here as a resource beyond photography—whether you’re looking for session outfit recommendations, hair and makeup referrals, or just want to chit chat how great the weathers been, I’m here for you.

This may be your first time in front of the camera and I understand that can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve been in front of the camera plenty of times and I can tell you I still get nervous and overwhelmed and think about, “what the heck am I supposed to do with my hands?” I’m here to calm your nerves so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Call, text, email. I promise to respond as soon as I am able to put your fears to rest.

I check-in about 2-4 weeks before the session to start chatting about finalizing details such as time, session location, where to meet and I’ll also send over a questionnaire to get to know you even better before we get together. 

While I normally don’t send a questionnaire until closer to the session date, please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have questions during the planning process!

Session Prep

It’s finally here! Relax. Breathe. Not everything needs to be perfect nor will it be. Some things can’t be controlled and that is OKAY. I promise. Let me do my job and you just enjoy what the day brings.

Just know I am excited to capture this season of your life. It deserves to be documented!

Session Day!

You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within about 3-4 weeks of your session. At that time, I’ll also send over details about preserving your images through prints and albums. 

I hope the relationship doesn’t end after I deliver your photographs. I want to hear about the adventures of your life, hear about the new things you’re up to, see your babies grow. Let’s stay connected on the gram if we’re not already – @alexisralstonphoto.

EXPERIENCE

• high resolution images. When you purchase any image you will receive both a high resolution image in addition to a web sized file perfect for both printing and your social media channels.

• online proofing gallery. Browse and select your final images with ease as well as order professional quality prints. You have the ability to share your gallery with whoever you want to have access!

• personal printing rights. You will receive limiting printing rights to have your images printed to showcase in your home or work spaces.
