Welcome
get to know the photographer
Hey, there! I’m so excited that you are here and have reached out about little ol’ me documenting your special day! That is not anything I take lightly, trust me. I believe that choosing a wedding photographer is so much more than hiring someone with a camera to document your day. Your wedding photographer should be someone who makes you feel comfortable, someone who eases the craziness of a wedding day, and maybe, someone who eventually becomes a friend (hey, girl, hey – I’m ready with wine when you are).
I am a hybrid photographer based in both Southern California and the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry. I love natural light and often use film to slow down time and truly capture the beauty of a moment. I strive to create beautiful images that are classic, natural and tell each couples unique story.
Go grab your drink of choice and scroll on down for some more information about working with me! Please reach out if there’s anything else I can answer for you. Hope to chat soon! Hugs.

The Process
After photographing a fair share of weddings over the past few years, I’ve found that I am not the perfect fit for every couple. That’s why this process begins with a conversation. I want to hear everything—how you met, funny first date stories, and how y’all got engaged. Give it all to me!
We’ll get to know one another, talk about the details of your day, answer any questions you might have about working with me and figure out if we’re the best fit for one another. Be warned I can be slightly awkward but I have an English bulldog named Buster who might bomb our chat and that could be something to look forward too!
Lets Connect
Use me. I mean it! I am here as a resource beyond photography—whether you’re looking for engagement session outfit recommendations, timeline advice, or vendor referrals.
Even if you’re working with a wedding planner or you’re planning a simple wedding, there are likely still a lot of moving pieces left leading up to your big day. I’ve photographed more weddings than I can count in the past few years and I am happy to share everything I’ve learned along the way!
Wedding Advice
I’m a big fan of engagement sessions for a few reasons. Not only do they allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera, they also give you the opportunity to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you.
Engagement sessions can take place anywhere from immediately following a proposal to just a few days before the wedding. I’ve found that there isn’t a “good” or “bad” time to take your photos. I normally plan sessions based on a particular “look” a couple has in mind, spring flowers for example, or based on schedules.
Engagement Session
I check-in about 6-8 weeks before the wedding to start chatting about timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions and anything else I should know about your big day.
While I normally don’t send a questionnaire until closer to the wedding, please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have questions during the planning process!
Wedding Prep
It’s finally here! The day the two of you say “I Do” and dance the night away surrounded by your family and friends.
Just know I am excited to celebrate and capture your wedding day. It’s going to be awesome.
The Big Day!
You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within about 8-10 weeks of your wedding. At that time, I’ll also send over details about preserving your images through prints and albums.
I hope the relationship doesn’t end after I deliver your photographs. I want to hear about the adventures of married life. And if you decide to have kids, I’d love to document your growing family or be considered for your anniversary portraits!

THE
EXPERIENCE
Working closely with my couples is something I absolutely love. I take a limited number of clients per year to be present throughout the planning process with you and provide each of you the time, attention and love you all deserve!
All Alexis Ralston couples receive a wedding guide, personalized wedding day photography timeline creation, vendor recommendation, engagement session preparation assistance, outfit assistance and me every step of the way! I can neither confirm nor deny surprises along the way. However, gifting is a love language of mine. I love to spoil my people!
I am honored to provide an inclusive and welcoming experience for all couples no matter your preferences, race or religious background. I believe in love, which has no boundaries.
ENGAGEMENT
SESSIONS
Most of our collections include a complimentary engagement session. It takes time for most couples to warm up to being photographed and understand how I pose. Timelines can be pretty tight on weddings days and 30 minutes may be all we have for portraits – which is why I’ve found that wedding day portraits turn out so much better when couples do engagement sessions ahead of time.
Engagement sessions also allow you to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you (and can even include pets!) We will get to know one another and I will learn the best ways to photograph you so come your wedding day if all we have is 15 – 30 minutes for portraits I will be able to make it look like we had an hour.
This is also a great time to get creative! We can incorporate things that speak to the two of you as a couple and are unique whether it be a location, something the two of you enjoy doing or an outfit. The possibilities are endless!
Thank you so much for considering me to be a part of your wedding day! If you’re interested in working with me, the next step is to set up a time to chat! To officially reserve your date, I’ll need a 50% non-refundable retainer and completed client agreement. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding date. I am also happy to work with you should we need to set up a payment plan. Just say the word!
